Ryder System Inc. has launched RydeSmart 3.0, the newest version of its onboard telematics system for fleet-vehicle analytics.
The system, which is now also being offered a software-as-a-service product, is a GPS fleet location, tracking and vehicle-performance management system for Ryder's full-service lease customers. The hardware/software package connects to vehicles' existing computer and diagnostics systems and communicates wirelessly via a dedicated Web-based application.
New features of RydeSmart 3.0 include multi-vehicle following and route-tracing, an improved user interface and comprehensive analytic reporting, in addition to diagnostic data such as idle time and fuel consumption.
‘The expanded analytics, improved mapping and new interface of RydeSmart 3.0 will provide fleet managers with greater visibility and easier-to-use navigation,’ says John Gleason, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Ryder Fleet Management Solutions.
