Hertz Testing Wireless EV Charging In Rental Fleet

0

The Hertz Corp. says it is running a trial using the Plugless Power wireless electric vehicle (EV) charging system from Evatran to test the technology's potential for Hertz's EV rental fleet.

Installation of the Plugless Power system at Hertz's corporate headquarters will be completed this month. The company will use the charging technology on its own vehicles and provide feedback on daily usage routines, user interfaces and other functionality.

Hertz – which also has partnerships with other EV infrastructure companies, such as GE -Â says it is the first car-rental company to deploy EVs and plug-in hybrid EVs on three continents: in the U.S. (New York, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco), the U.K. (London) and China (Shanghai).
