Alliance AutoGas has announced it is pursuing California Air Resources Board (CARB) certification for its bi-fuel propane autogas conversions of model-year 2016 Ford Transit vehicles.
“The Ford Transit platform has already become Alliance AutoGas’ most popular bi-fuel propane autogas product,” states Ed Hoffman of Alliance AutoGas. “With our sales success on the 2015 model, our customers are anxious for a 50-state solution.
“There has been no precedent set for a light-duty bi-fuel autogas vehicle to obtain CARB approval,” he continues. “The emissions requirements and advanced diagnostic requirements have been a great hurdle. Our engineering group has conducted an extensive feasibility study, and we believe our advanced technology can be meet those technical hurdles.”
Alliance AutoGas notes it is already accepting orders for the bi-fuel 2016 Ford Transit in the remaining 49 states, and the OEM quality and engineering on the Transit conversion is backed by the alliance’s five-year, 100,000-mile warranty. Certifications are secured by Blossman Services Inc., the equipment distributor for Alliance AutoGas.
