Textile and workwear services company UniFirst says it is testing the use of electric vans from Navistar for its customer deliveries in Stratford, Conn., and Chicago.
The Navistar eStar van can handle a 4,000-pound load and run up to 100 miles on a single charge, which is attained in eight hours. The eStar van is a purpose-built vehicle – not a reconfigured fossil-fuel van, Navistar explains.
