Los Angeles-based MPG Car Rental says it is adding the new Toyota Prius c hybrid-electric vehicle to its fleet of rental units.
The company, which focuses on maintaining an all-green fleet, adds the Prius c to a lineup that includes the Chevy Volt, the Lexus CT200 hybrid, and Lexus' compact SUV hybrids, the RX400 and RX450. MPG Car Rental also has a wide complement of earlier-generation Prius models available for rental.
The new Prius c comes standard with a 1.5 L aluminum DOHC 16-valve gasoline engine and a permanent-magnet AC synchronous electric motor that features a power output of 60 hp. The vehicle's battery system is sealed nickel-metal hydride technology.
