Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. says it is now offering financing and lease options for its 2012 RAV4 electric vehicle (EV). The RAV4 will go on sale the week of Sept. 24 through select California dealers in major metropolitan markets.
Toyota says the all-electric RAV4 has an EPA-rated range of 103 miles (78 city miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe), 74 highway MPGe and 76 combined MPGe). The manufacturer's suggested retail price is $49,800 – more than twice the starting price of a standard RAV4. The vehicle will likely qualify for a $2,500 state rebate and a $7,500 federal tax credit.
Toyota notes that Leviton is the company's approved EV equipment provider. The vehicle comes equipped with a 120 V Level 1 charging cable, but Leviton offers a custom 240 V Level 2 charging station and related equipment.
