Texas Puts Grant Money Toward NGV Fueling Infrastructure Development

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), a state natural-resources agency, says $4.5 million in Clean Transportation Triangle grants are available to support the build-out of a natural gas vehicle (NGV) fueling network in Texas.

The grants, which are part of the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan, will be made available to businesses, local governments and individuals that are building NGV fueling stations along the interstates connecting Houston, San Antonio, Dallas and Ft. Worth. TCEQ says the stations must be located within three miles of the highways and be publicly accessible.

The agency notes that it will give preference to stations that provide both liquefied natural gas and compressed natural gas, and to stations located within a mile of an interstate. The application deadline is April 16.
