Texas Agency Mobilizing New Funds For CNG, LNG Refueling Infrastructure

0

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is deploying a new round of funding, totaling approximately $1.6 million, that is aimed at helping bring more natural gas refueling infrastructure to the state.

Administered through its Clean Transportation Triangle (CTT) program, the TCEQ says the funds will support the construction of compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) stations (or facilities that pump both CNG and LNG) that will be located along interstate highways running between Houston, San Antonio and Dallas/Fort Worth.

The stations must be new, or the equipment must be intended to provide a new service at an existing station. The TCEQ notes that it will give preference to stations that provide both LNG and CNG at a single site, as well as to stations located a mile or less from an interstate.

A workshop will be held on Jan. 23, 2013, at TCEQ's headquarters, and applications must be submitted by Feb. 15. For more information about the grants, click HERE or call (800) 919-8377.
