Student Transportation of America Inc. (STA) has been awarded a new five-year contract with St. Paul Public Schools in Minnesota that will see the deployment of 65 new propane-powered vehicles.
‘The vehicles are easy to drive, quiet, and parents will like that they burn 60 percent less carbon monoxide than typical school buses,’ says Denis Gallagher, CEO of parent company Student Transportation Inc.
The $4 million annual contract includes a refurbished facility in St. Paul, STA says.
The company has worked with Blue Bird Corp. and ROUSH CleanTech on a number of propane vehicle deployments, including a notable initiative in Nebraska that included more than 400 propane buses. STA also recently rolled out more than 200 propane autogas vehicles for two school districts in Pennsylvania.
