Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. has debuted a lineup of its carbon-fiber Q-Lite compressed natural gas (CNG) storage tanks that can be collar-mounted on trucks via side-rail-mounted or back-of-cab systems.
The new variety of tanks, which joins Quantum's existing complement of cylinders that can be strap-mounted, will be initially rolled out in a 28.4 DGE size (21′ diameter and 80′ long (86′ overall length with the collar neck)). The company says other tank sizes – including 25′ diameter – will soon be available in collar-mount versions.
‘We are excited to launch this new line of collar-mount CNG tanks to address this growing segment of the CNG truck market,’ says Brian Olson, president and CEO of Quantum.
Quantum has received an initial order for the new tanks and expects to begin shipping product to a ‘high-volume CNG integrator’ by the end of this month.
