In an effort to ‘help stimulate the market and attract new customers,’ Altech-Eco Corp. is dropping the prices of its bi-fuel and dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickup trucks and Transit Connects.
‘We will continue to make cost reductions until it is affordable for everyone,’ says Miles George, vice president of Altech-Eco, noting that the company was able to make the price reductions by ‘optimizing its system and working with its suppliers.’
Applicable to model-year 2013 vehicles, the price reductions are as follows: The cost of a CNG conversion on the Transit Connect with the 2.0-liter engine is $6,200, installed, with an 8.9 GGE CNG tank and $7,599 with a 17.8 GGE tank. Conversions on F-250s and F-350s are $7,779 with a 15.7 GGE tank and $8,350 with a 21.2 GGE tank.
Altech-Eco is a Ford Motor Co. Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM), which ensures that the natural gas conversions do not substantially compromise the vehicle's horsepower, torque and towing, as well as keeps the OEM warranty intact.
