Transportation and logistics provider Premier Transportation says it has put its first compressed natural gas-powered tractors into service to transport retail products from Atlanta-based distribution centers to local stores.
‘Although this is newer technology, it is evolving quickly, and the infrastructure to support CNG trucks is growing rapidly,’ says Mike Medici, chairman and CEO of Premier Transportation. ‘We are pleased and committed to supporting initiatives that involve alternative fuels, and understand the financial and environmental benefit of using our CNG trucks within our distribution networks.’
The company adds that CNG trucks will soon be used to also transport goods from its shipping facility in central Florida, and additional CNG trucks may be used in other delivery operations in the future.
