Oregon Fleet Purchases Compressed Natural Gas Trucks

Oregon-based Rogue Disposal & Recycling Inc. has added to its fleet a new waste collection truck powered by compressed natural gas (CNG).

According to The Mail Tribune (Medford, Ore.), Rogue recently purchased the 2012 Mack CNG truck, which fills up at a Rogue Valley Transit District fuel station and is currently being used along one of the company's downtown Medford business routes.

In addition, the company has also purchased a second CNG truck and expects delivery of the new vehicle by year-end.

Wendel Smith, the company's general manager, told The Mail Tribune that Rogue had spent two years researching equipment manufacturers, as well as other fleets that had made the conversion to CNG, before making its purchases.
