Optimum Composite Technologies LLC has released new Type 3 compressed natural gas (CNG) cylinders for integration into various natural gas vehicle platforms.
The 16-inch-diameter CNG tanks come in two sizes: One is 35 inches long and has a capacity of 6.8 GGE of CNG, and the other is 48 inches long and stores 9.7 GGE. The company says the products have been tested and qualified against NGV2-2007 and DOT FMVSS304 specifications.
‘The new selection of CNG tanks from our Blue Line family gives customers options that they did not previously have,’ says Optimum's Chad Morgan, who notes that the 16-inch x 35-inch tank is a good replacement option for expired CNG cylinders in Honda Civic GXs, as well as for bi-fuel applications in small SUVs and sedans.
Optimum, based in Brigham City, Utah, says the products are available for order now. For details, send an email to morgan.c@optimumct.com.
