Opel International, one of Europe's largest auto manufacturers, has expanded its lineup of vehicles powered by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to include the Astra five-door hatchback, the Astra Sports Tourer and the Meriva. These vehicles can now be ordered with Opel's new 1.4 L LPG Turbo ecoFLEX engine.
The company's LPG models feature both an LPG tank and a gasoline tank to increase the vehicles' operating range. The range of the Astra five-door LPG model, for example, is more than 1,400 km (approximately 930 miles) using a 56-liter gas tank and a 49-liter LPG tank.
Opel launched its Corsa LPG 1.2 L ecoFLEX three- and five-door models last June. The company anticipates further expanding its LPG suite this fall, with the release of ecoFLEX versions of the Zafira Tourer and the Insignia.
