Alternative fuel systems provider NGV Motori says it has received a full certificate of conformity from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for compressed natural gas (CNG) conversions of the DT 466 ESI Phoenix engine for model years 2010-2012.
Because these vehicles already have their HP systems installed, the company explains, it reduces the expense that a conventional conversion would incur. NGV Motori says it also invites those with ESI engines that are not being used or no longer in service to see if they qualify for a cash buyback for those engines.
NGV Motori currently has additional EPA certifications for the Mercedes MBE 906, Ford E-450 and Ford E-350, among others.
