Semiconductor company Scaleo chip has entered into an agreement with ARM Holdings to integrate the ARM Cortex-R5 MPCore processor into OLEA, Scaleo chip's new family of microcontrollers for vehicle powertrain systems.
The new microcontrollers will be designed to deliver powertrain control solutions for advanced internal combustion engine vehicles, electric vehicles and hybrid-electric vehicles, the companies say.
‘The trend for high-performance solutions that are also energy-efficient is fundamentally important,’ says Keith Clarke, vice president of embedded processors for ARM. ‘We look forward to working with Scaleo chip to address the requirements of car manufacturers and sub-contractors.’
