NatGasCar Attains EPA Certification For Minivans Powered By Compressed Natural Gas

NatGasCar LLC, a company that specializes in natural gas vehicle conversions, says the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has certified the company's proprietary Van Conversion System for use on the 2011 Dodge Caravan, the 2011 Chrysler Town and Country and the 2011 Volkswagon Routan.

NatGasCar's compressed natural gas (CNG) conversion system employs a ‘sleek injection device’ that does not require drilling and tapping into an engine manifold, according to the company. The OBD-II compliant platform includes flexible high- and low-pressure steel braid fuel lines and custom brackets for the EDI controller, regulator and fuel rails, as well as Bosch CNG injectors and Lyra valves from OMB.

‘Our launch of the CNG Caravan system enables fleets and private users to immediately reduce their operating costs without giving up any of the benefits of the award-winning 3.6 L Pentastar engine,’ says Joe Wray, director of sales for NatGasCar.
