Venice, Calif.-based MPG Car Rental, which specializes in clean fuel vehicle rentals, says it is now offering the 2012 Chevy Volt in its fleet.
According to Environmental Protection Agency tests, the Volt gets 93 mpg equivalent in all electric-mode, 37 mpg in gasoline-only mode and a combined gasoline-electric city/highway fuel economy of 60 mpg, the company notes. The vehicle's range on its battery is 35 miles, and the gasoline engine runs a further 344 miles.
