Foster City, Calif.-based Motiv Power Systems is launching an all-electric option for the Ford F-59 stripped chassis for trucks, buses and vans.
The new electrified F-59 has up to a 100-mile range, a GVWR of 22,000 pounds, and a three-year/36,000-mile warranty for both the Motiv powertrain and Ford chassis. According to Motiv, its all-electric powertrain reduces total operating costs by up to 87% in comparison to diesel trucks.
Installed via ship-through, the F-59 option includes the proprietary Motiv electric Powertrain Control System, batteries, motor, charger, heating, air conditioning and other components.
Motiv says the option requires minimal modification to the body and final vehicle design and includes universal charging compatibility, as well as secure remote telematics and diagnostics.
AmeriPride Services, a uniform and linen supply company based in Minnesota, plans to use Motiv's F-59 option for six walk-in vans in Fresno, Calif.
