Linde/Quantum Partnership Aimed at Hydrogen Refueling Projects in CA

Linde LLC, an affiliate company of The Linde Group, has inked a three-year agreement with Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. for the supply of Quantum's gaseous hydrogen refueling systems. The companies have executed the first purchase order under the new partnership.

‘Linde is spending millions of dollars on California-based companies in the deployment of hydrogen fueling stations, and this expands that investment in the state via the design and build of a critical component of the station, the hydrogen fueling dispenser,’ says Steve Eckhardt, Linde's head of business development, alternative energy.

Quantum's technology, which has been used in hydrogen fuel cell projects for companies such as GM and Shell Oil, will be integrated into refueling systems that operate at service pressures of 5,000 psi and 10,000 psi. The systems will feature remote gas management technology and point-of-sale functionality.

‘We are pleased to bring our technology and experience to one of the largest hydrogen suppliers in the world,’ says Brian Olson, president and CEO of Quantum.
