Hexagon Lincoln Announces Bigger CNG Tank for Heavy-Duty Fleets

Nebraska-based Hexagon Lincoln Inc., a subsidiary of Hexagon Composites, says it has produced its largest-capacity and lightest-weight compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle tank to date.

The company says its new 27-inch-diameter tank comes less than a year after it announced a joint venture with Agility Fuel Systems to supply CNG cylinders for fuel systems. In fact, the new cylinder is featured in Agility's 160 DGE behind-the-cab CNG system, which was introduced at the Natural Gas Vehicle Conference and Expo in November 2014.

‘Working together to bring product innovations to the market is a top objective of our joint venture, and this new cylinder represents the first fruit of these efforts,’ says Chet Dawes, Hexagon Lincoln's vice president of CNG automotive products. ‘We are committed to continued innovation and highly engineered solutions for the marketplace.’

Hexagon Lincoln says it has already received orders valued at approximately $7 million for the new tank and has begun delivery for fuel system orders for several Class 8 truck fleets.
