The Hertz Corp. says it is introducing eight compressed natural gas (CNG) Honda Civics and two CNG-powered GMC Yukons to its fleet of rental units in Oklahoma City.
The company says the natural gas vehicles (NGVs) will be made available at its Will Rogers World Airport location beginning next month. Last year, Hertz started offering CNG vehicles through Hertz On Demand at Oklahoma State University, and the company also rents CNG vehicles in Italy and the U.K.
‘As more low-emission, fuel-efficient vehicles become available for general use, we will continue to expand our rental fleet,’ comments Mark Frissora, Hertz' chairman and CEO.
The company says Oklahoma City is the epicenter of its CNG airport-rentals pilot program. The state hosts significant CNG fueling infrastructure (with approximately 70 existing or planned public stations), as well as many natural gas producers.
