General Motors says it has unveiled a Solar Tree structure from Envision Solar International Inc. at its Warren, Mich., facility. This installation uses solar photovoltaic panels on a shading structure to charge six electric vehicles.
The technology incorporates Envision's CleanCharge CI, ‘column-integrated’ electric vehicle charging stations and EnvisionTrak multi-axis solar tracking technology. The company says it will be installing more Solar Tree structures for GM in the coming months.
