ALTe Powertrain Technologies, a company focused on developing hybrid-electric platforms for light commercial fleet vehicles, is embarking on a research project with Club Assist to study the performance of ALTe's powertrain.

Club Assist will deploy an ALTe-converted hybrid-electric Ford F-150 truck in its Chicago-based fleet. The project will provide information and feedback to ALTe about its powertrain and will allow Club Assist to generate road-tested metrics, such as data about fuel savings, retrofit cost/benefits and overall vehicle performance.

‘ALTe is excited to announce this collaboration that will deliver next-generation powertrain hybridization solutions to existing fleets,’ says John Thomas, CEO and co-founder of ALTe. ‘The feedback they will provide will help us improve our technology further and gain a better understanding of the real-world use that this fleet vehicle application will undergo.’

Club Assist supplies automotive batteries, battery testing equipment, automotive glass, alternators, starter motors and other equipment to automotive clubs and their members. The company also administers auto-related marketing and training programs.
