Nobina, a company that operates public bus transportation systems in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, has ordered 121 biofuel-powered buses from commercial-vehicle manufacturer Scania.
Of the 121 buses, 109 will run on biogas, and the others will be fueled with biodiesel, according to Scania. These vehicles are based on a new platform of engines that the company introduced last fall.
The vehicles will be put into service in the Uppland and Skane provinces of Sweden in the summer of 2012.
