AGA Systems LLC says it has received certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for bi-fuel compressed natural gas (CNG) conversions on certain model-year 2014 and 2015 GM vehicle platforms that use the 5.3-liter direct-injection engine.
AGA Systems says its DuraDrive DI system, which is configured using Tier 1 OEM-tested components that are engineered to accommodate the unique operating characteristics of direct injection engines, is an option for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 1500 pickup trucks and the 2015 Silverado/Sierra pickup trucks and GM's SUV family, including the Tahoe and Suburban.
Back in April, the company netted EPA certification for bi-fuel CNG conversions on 2014 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain SUVs with the 2.4-liter direct-injection engine. Fleets such as Ozinga Bros. are deploying bi-fuel Terrains that use the AGA system.
