ECOtality Inc. says its Blink home charging station for electric vehicles (EVs) has received an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listing. The product has also been found to be compliant with Federal Communications Commission regulations that govern radio and frequency-emitting devices.

‘We are proud that our Blink charging stations will bear the UL Mark, and we will continue to produce charging solutions that will encourage consumer adoption of EVs and EV charging stations,’ says Don Karner, president of ECOtality.

ECOtality, which received a $10 million equity investment from ABB yesterday, is currently serving as project manager of The EV Project. This initiative involves the installation of 15,000 commercial and residential charging stations in 16 cities metropolitan areas in six states and the District of Columbia.
