Cummins Inc. and Detroit Diesel Corp. have certified Universal Lubricants' ECO ULTRA SAE 15W-40 oil for compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) engines.

Cummins says the product conforms to its CES 20074 engine oil specifications. Detroit Diesel has approved it for use in its Series 50G and 60G engines and certified that ECO ULTRA meets the Power Guard Oil Specification 93K216.

‘We are pleased to provide a product that enhances the performance of CNG- and LNG-powered fleets,’ says John Wesley, Universal Lubricants' CEO. ‘To be recognized as meeting the extremely high standards set by these leaders in the natural gas market is an important milestone for our company.’

ECO ULTRA CNG/LNG consists of up to 83% re-refined material. Used oil is the key feedstock, producing Group II base oil that meets OEMs' specifications and SAE requirements.
