Concurrent Technologies Providing Bridge Between DOE And Shale Gas Industry

Concurrent Technologies Corp. (CTC), a nonprofit scientific research and development organization, says it is working with the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) to bring shale gas innovations from national labs to the marketplace.

CTC will serve as an intermediary between the federal government and the shale gas industry, tasked with identifying industry issues and needs; presenting the industry with NETL technology and research capabilities; and assisting in the development of partnerships between NETL and the private sector. CTC says it will draw on its expertise in areas such as environmental engineering, advanced materials, logistics and geospatial information systems to expedite technology commercialization.

‘Our goal is to see NETL technology solving industry problems, and we believe increasing our communication with the industry is an essential part of our achieving this goal,’ says Jessica Sosenko, NETL's technology transfer program manager.
