The Colorado Energy Office (CEO) has kicked off the third round of funding for the ALT Fuels Colorado grant program and is seeking new bids under a request for applications.
In partnership with the Regional Air Quality Council and the Colorado Department of Transportation, the CEO is requesting proposals for the construction of public-access compressed natural gas (CNG) stations, as well as optional co-located electric vehicle charging and propane autogas (LPG) fueling stations, along major transportation corridors throughout the state.
The CEO says funding allocations will go exclusively toward the purchase of station equipment for developing CNG stations, with up to $500,000 – or 80% of the total equipment cost, whichever is lower – awarded to each successful application. Installation and other associated costs will not be covered by this grant.
The agency adds that the installation of co-located electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) fast chargers and LPG stations may qualify for up to an additional $50,000 (80% of equipment costs) in funding available for each fuel type, with a potential maximum grant allocation of $600,000 (CNG + EVSE + LPG) per station.Â
