The Delaware River Valley Planning Commission, an agency serving nine New Jersey and Pennsylvania counties in greater Philadelphia, is administering a $160,000 grant that will allow the fleet in Gloucester County, N.J., to buy two natural gas vehicles.
The converted compressed natural gas (CNG) vans will operate as a part of the county's seniors transportation program, according to an article from the South Jersey Times. The program logs more than 25,000 miles annually.
Gloucester's CNG vans will refuel at a station that South Jersey Gas operates in nearby Glassboro. Each of the NGVs will save the county approximately $4,000 annually in fuel costs.
