Parking Company of America says its Fast Park subsidiary has achieved a three-star rating in the Ohio Green Fleet program, administered by Clean Fuels Ohio.
The fleets at Airport Fast Park and Park Place began deploying compressed natural gas (CNG) shuttles last December, and 10 CNG units are now in operation near the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The Cleveland Airport Fast Park and Park Place facilities also provide complimentary charging for electric vehicle (EV) owners.
‘Fast Park strives to be a good corporate citizen in our local markets, and making our shuttles eco-friendly is a top priority across our footprint,’ says William Addy, senior general manager of systems and fleet for Fast Park. ‘Using 10 CNG shuttles here in Cleveland is the equivalent of taking 25 passenger vehicles off the road for one year or growing more than 3,100 tree seedlings for 10 years.’
Ohio Green Fleets, which debuted in August 2008, involves more than 250 public and private organizations that are performing various fleet-efficiency initiatives in order to earn Ohio Green Fleet certification.
