CNG cylinders international has completed development of its new 25-inch-diameter Type 3 compressed natural gas (CNG) tanks and is planning full commercialization and availability by the end of the year.
The company says the product will be offered in three lengths: 80, 90 and 100 inches. The maximum capacity, from a fast fill, is 55 DGE per cylinder.
‘Since real estate on any truck is limited, the 25-inch cylinders will maximize the available space while giving the trucking industry unprecedented DGEs,’ says Randolf H. Wollgiehn, the company's international marketing manager, in an email alert. ‘This means added range [and] less fuel stops.’
