China Yuchai International Ltd. says its Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co. Ltd. (GYMCL) subsidiary is developing a suite of natural-gas-powered engines designed mainly for the large bus and mid- to heavy-duty truck markets.
As a part of this project, GYMCL plans to construct a new facility at its main site in Yulin City, Guangxi Province, specifically for the commercial production of these natural gas engines. The company expects the plant to be fully operational early next year, with a capacity to produce 20,000 engines annually.
‘The demand for natural gas engines is expected to grow, and in preparation for this growth, we have moved ahead with the construction of this facility to become a leader in this new dynamic market,’ says Benny H. Goh, president of China Yuchai.
