Chevron Lubricants has released its Delo 400 NG SAE 15W-40 lubricant, designed specifically for use in compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) engines.

The new product, which is based on the company's ISOSYN technology, has been successfully tested in Cummins ISL G series CNG engines in delivery trucks, Chevron says. Delo 400 NG meets the performance requirements of OEM specifications such as Cummins (CES 20074) and Detroit Diesel (93K216), and it is also applicable to CNG platforms from Volvo, Mack, Isuzu, Hino, Hyundai and other manufacturers.

Chevron says the lubricant has achieved excellent ratings for sludge control and valve or piston deposits in field trials and engine tests. It also minimizes main and connecting-rod bearing wear, and offers excellent tappet and liner wear performance.

The company adds that Delo 400 NG will be available in North America in June.
