Following a decision to increase the total amount of funding being made available, the California Energy Commission (CEC) has added three proposed awardees for its Advanced Vehicle Technology Manufacturing grant solicitation, which is administered under the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program.

Motiv Power Systems Inc. is in line to receive $2.38 million to support pilot production of its electric powertrain components for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. Trexa LLC will net a $2.45 million grant to begin pilot production of its M9 electric vehicle technology, and Vantage Vehicle International Inc. will receive a $3.34 million award to support the California Electric Vehicle Project.

Existing awardees include Tesla Motors Inc., Wrightspeed Inc., Quallion LLC and Zero Motorcycles Inc. Funding of all these projects is contingent on receiving approval during a public CEC business meeting and execution of grant agreements.
