CCW Partners with Frederick County TransIT for Five Electric Buses

Complete Coach Works (CCW), a U.S. bus remanufacturing and rehabilitation company, says that TransIT Services of Frederick County, Md., has purchased five Zero-Emissions Propulsion System (ZEPS) buses to enhance its fleet.

According to CCW, the ZEPS buses were built at CCW’s Riverside, Calif., location beginning in late 2015. The buses were fully remanufactured and then supplied with CCW’s ZEPS technology.

Nancy Norris, director of TransIT, says CCW was chosen for this project because the company rebuilds older buses and keeps them “out of the landfill,” adding that “the cost is about 40 percent less than the cost of new buses.”

“We appreciate the path TransIT is choosing to follow,” says Dale Carson, president of CCW. “We believe our buses are a step in the right direction.”

TransIT services include public transit, paratransit and commuter assistance services for Frederick County residents and area commuters.
