BorgWarner, which offers clean and efficient technology solutions for combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles, has provided its advanced wastegate turbocharging technology for numerous hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) to BYD Auto Industry Co. Ltd.
According to BorgWarner, the turbochargers boost BYD Auto’s 1.5-liter direct injection gasoline engine in its Qin, Song and Yuan HEVs and the 2.0-liter direct injection gasoline engine in its Tang and Song HEVs.
As efficiency enablers for hybrid powertrains, BorgWarner’s wastegate turbochargers are designed to meet emissions requirements by offering a powerful and efficient performance. The company says the turbocharging solutions provide excellent torque characteristics over the entire engine speed range, while also improving fuel economy for hybrid powertrains.
