Ballard Power Systems says it has shipped three of its 150 kW FCvelocity-HD6 fuel-cell power modules to Brazil-based TuttoTrasporti (TUTTO), an integrator of hybrid transit buses.
Ballard says TUTTO will deploy the modules in buses as part of a United Nations Development Program bus initiative. Under the program, United Nations funding is being provided to service the transportation needs of Sao Paulo.
The new fuel-cell-powered buses are expected to go into service in 2012, the company adds.
