American Power Group Inc. (APG) has received approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its natural gas conversion systems for 241 outside-useful-life (OUL) engines, bringing its total OUL approvals to 449 engine families.
According to APG, the approvals cover the following OUL engines:
-Daimler/Chrysler (2000-2003): OM457LA, OM460LA
-Volvo/Mack (1996-2002): E7, EM7, VE, D12
-Cummins (1991-2002): C8.3, ISC, ISL, ISM, ISX, L10, N14, M11
-Cummins (2006-2009): ISC, ISL

APG notes that these conversions use the company's V5000 Dual Fuel Turbocharged Natural Gas technology, which is required to meet specific design, componentry and emission compliance criteria per EPA Final Rule 40CFR Parts 85 and 86.
