ALTe Powertrain Technologies has entered into a joint venture agreement with MESA Century New Energy Technology Inc., whereby ALTe will own one-third of a new entity – MESA Industrial Technology Corp. – that will focus on providing fleet electrification solutions for the medium-duty bus and truck markets in China.
‘All parties to the transaction share the vision of growing the entire electric vehicle ecosystem to achieve an unprecedented scale, allowing for the accelerated adoption of an affordable and sustainable alternative to the traditional petroleum-based transportation system,’ says John Thomas, chairman of ALTe.
MESA says that when the build-out of manufacturing facilities is complete, the projected production volume will be ‘at least 240,000 units annually.’
