AeroVironment Inc. has released its new EVSE-RS Plug-In charging unit for electric vehicles (EVs) – a product designed to plug into a 240 V outlet instead of being hardwired in a home or business.
The company says the SAE-J1772-compliant charging station recharges all battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles that incorporate the J1772 standard. The EVSE-RS Plug-In slides in and out of a wall-mounted bracket, allowing EV owners to easily move the unit. An installation kit and mounting template complement the charger.
‘All EV owners need is a dedicated 240 V outlet, and they can easily install the wall mount and plug-in charger at their home,’ says Wahid Nawabi, senior vice president and general manager of efficient energy systems at AeroVironment. ‘If they want to remove it, they simply unplug, slide it out of the bracket and take it with them to another location.’
