Wisconsin Clean Cities Debuts ‘Eco-Driving’ Workshops for Class 8 Drivers

0

Wisconsin Clean Cities is offering a series of half-day sessions that provide ‘eco-driving’ training to Class 8 over-the-road truckers.

Held at Waukesha County Technical College in Pewaukee, Wis., these sessions will offer drivers techniques that can help improve trucks' fuel efficiency and reduce fuel costs, as well as reduce emissions. Each course consists of two hours in the classroom, one hour of simulator training and two hours on-road driving. Drivers who complete the course are also required to attend a one-hour follow-up session within a month.

The classes will be offered on four different dates, with two available sessions each day: Saturday, Oct. 5, 12, 19 or 26, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., or 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sessions are free of charge, but drivers must be based in southeast Wisconsin, and there are only six spots open per session. Registrations will be available on a first come, first served basis.
