Ogden, Utah's third compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station is opening Wednesday at Weber State University (WSU), which is pursuing natural gas vehicle (NGV) conversions for its own fleet and will be a primary customer of the facility. The station will also be open to the public.
Questar Gas developed the station and provided funds matching a federal grant to finance the project.
‘We applaud Weber State University and Questar for their commitment to furthering this cleaner-burning, domestic, affordable fuel,’ said Robin Erickson, director of Utah Clean Cities. ‘Natural gas helps save motorists money and, with lower emissions, helps us all breathe easier.’
By the end of the year, there will be 35 public-access CNG stations and more than 50 private stations in Utah.
