Utilimaster Corp., a manufacturer of walk-in vans and commercial truck bodies, has executed new agreements with a pair of companies that are focused on natural gas vehicle (NGV) conversions: BAF Technologies and Landi Renzo.
The company's partnership with BAF, a subsidiary of Clean Energy Fuels Corp., will see Utilimaster become the exclusive and preferred installer of BAF's EPA- and CARB-approved compressed natural gas (CNG) system on the Ford F-59 walk-in-van stripped chassis.
Landi Renzo will offer CNG conversions on Isuzu NPR-HD gasoline vehicles. The Utilimaster/Landi Renzo conversions are installed adjacent to the Isuzu NPR assembly plant at Spartan Motors' Charlotte, Mich., campus, or the CNG conversions can be performed at Isuzu dealerships. In this case, Utilimaster's field services teams would provide training to the Isuzu techs.
Utilimaster administers a proprietary alternative fuels program that helps fleets assess their needs, formulate solutions, develop a business case and manage the alt-fuel deployment.
