Trillium CNG has wrapped up a public-access compressed natural gas (CNG) station in Tampa, Fla., at heavy-duty carrier Dillon Transport's location at 4612 S. 50th St. This is the first of two CNG stations that Trillium has on tap for Tampa, with the other due to come online soon.
Dillon Transport is the anchor tenant for the new station, having signed a fuel purchase agreement with Trillium to support its fleet of 55 natural gas-powered tractors. The station will allow three vehicles to fuel simultaneously and includes Trillium CNG's fast-fill hydraulic intensifier technology.
Dillon Transport is operating its trucks under a contract with The Mosaic Company, which sent out a request for proposals in 2012 that specifically called for carriers that would use natural gas as a transportation fuel.
