The Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) has developed a set of best practices – ‘Recommended Practices for the Design, Installation, Operation and Maintenance of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Vehicle Fueling Facilities’ – and is seeking public comment about the document.
PEI is a major trade association for the companies that manufacture and distribute fuel-handling equipment – and CNG is growing in prevalence among fuel types. In turn, the organization is asking for feedback from various professionals, including engineers, regulators, utilities, CNG system manufacturers and other stakeholders, to help sharpen the document's coverage.
The document – which is available here – covers various areas, including the following:
- time-fill CNG refueling
- fast-fill CNG refueling
- commercial fleet fueling
- retail fueling
- small-scale CNG refueling equipment
PEI notes that the comment period ends Weds., Sept. 10.
