Toyota Motor Corp. (TMC) has announced the launch of its Aqua gasoline-electric compact hybrid in Japan.
According to TMC, the Aqua boasts a small, light and efficient hybrid system that achieves a fuel efficiency of 35.4 km/L under the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's JC08 test cycle. The hybrid vehicle has a starting price of 1.69 million yen, and the company says it has a monthly sales target of 12,000 Aqua units for Japan.
