Tennessee Gas Utility Building Second CNG Station

Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) is constructing a new compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station on S. Center Rd. at the company's South Service Center in Memphis.

According to a report from the Memphis Flyer, the facility – which is planned for a July completion – will comprise two fueling islands with two high-flow nozzles. The station's cost is approximately $2 million.

MLGW opened its first CNG station at its North Service Center last July. The company told the Flyer that this facility pumped 10,000 GGE of CNG in March. The retail price of CNG at MLGW's North Service Center is currently $1.69/GGE.
